The vast innovations in cloud computing and page ranking technology made it almost instantly favorable over one-time search engine darling, Yahoo! And Google is not just a name or a brand \u2013 it\u2019s a word that, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ventureblog.com\/2003\/05\/4-keys-to-googles-success.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> because of their huge focus on the user experience <\/a>, has become a commonly used verb (ie: \u201cHey, when is Daylight Savings?\u201d \u201cI don\u2019t know, dude. Just Google it.\u201d). Clocking in at $37.905 billion in revenue (and growing), Google Inc. didn\u2019t start making money right away: It wasn\u2019t until after they began auctioning ads that the big bucks started rolling in. And according to one store owner, he figures that \u201cBecause of the questions in the economy \u2026 [people aren\u2019t] going out as much. But they are entertaining at home, so consequently a lot of the sales that maybe would go to a bar or restaurant is actually coming [to liquor stores].\u201dAnd it\u2019s true! To date, they have more than 30,000 subscribers, but they\u2019ve been trying to help folks find all-you-can-drink dives since 2005. It wasn\u2019t until the recent recession that bars, restaurants and clubs started fighting for event listings on their site, as a recent study by the Nielsen Company claimed that people aren\u2019t poppin\u2019 bottles in public as much as they used to.  Seva Granik, one of the company\u2019s co-founders, told the New York Times in an email that \u201cthe bad economy is doing nothing but helping us. We\u2019re probably the only company we know of that\u2019s doing very well because of the downturn.\u201d Cheers to that! One of the reasons why haircutting ventures have continued to succeed is because \u201cwomen may slow down with how often they get their hair done, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/08\/07\/us\/07hair.html?_r=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">but they\u2019ll always get it done<\/a>,\u201d says one stylist. Another salon owner noted \u201cit\u2019s not like other industries where you\u2019re trying to find customers. In a single year, they went from 5 million users to over 25 million users, each with at least 2 GB free space, by default.
